What is EU Taxonomy?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The European Union Taxonomy defines the criteria for making a substantial contribution to climate change mitigation in the development of new buildings. The main requirements are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • The primary energy consumption<\/strong> of new buildings must be at least 10% lower than the national requirements for nearly zero-energy buildings (nZEB).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • For buildings with a floor area of over 5,000 m\u00b2, the life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions<\/strong> must be calculated and disclosed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • For buildings over 5,000 m\u00b2, airtightness and thermal performance testing<\/strong> must be carried out after completion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    In addition, buildings must also meet other environmental objectives such as climate change adaptation, sustainable use and protection of water and marine resources, transition to a circular economy, pollution prevention, and protection of biodiversity. This means that the building must not significantly harm the achievement of these objectives (DNSH \u2013 Do No Significant Harm criteria).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
