Energy modeling

Energy model is a fundamental tool we use to analyze and optimize the energy efficiency of projects. We help assess how effectively a building uses energy and identify potential savings opportunities along with their return on investment.

What is the process?

Creation of a detailed 3D model

We develop a comprehensive 3D model that incorporates all necessary data, including architectural features of the building, indoor and outdoor climate conditions, material properties, dimensions and locations of windows and doors, as well as the technical systems present in the building (heating, ventilation, and cooling systems).

Simulation of energy efficiency

The software simulates the building’s energy efficiency, allowing us to analyze how various factors—such as location, weather conditions, and usage patterns—affect energy consumption and indoor climate.

Testing with the model

Using the model, we test different energy efficiency measures and technological solutions, such as energy-efficient heating and cooling systems, renewable energy sources (e.g., solar panels), and automation solutions (e.g., smart thermostats). This helps us determine which solutions offer the best energy savings and profitability.

Simulation of different loads

If necessary, we also simulate various loads (e.g., occupancy levels, equipment) and their impact on the building’s energy efficiency. This allows us to evaluate how occupancy affects energy consumption and system performance.

Additional calculations we perform:

  • Summer and winter indoor temperature control
  • Daylight factor compliance with requirements
  • Heating simulation to determine heating needs
  • Cooling simulation to determine cooling needs
  • Calculation of output from local renewable energy systems
  • Assessment of energy efficiency compliance with minimum requirements, including the calculation of the building’s energy label (ETA)
